REGULATORY COMPLIANCE & ENFORCEMENT COUNCIL

About Us

The Investigation and Enforcement Director's Council (IEDC) was formed in 1990 by senior investigation and enforcement personnel associated with Ontario Government Ministries, Agencies, Delegated Authorities, Boards and Commissions for the purpose of sharing similar concerns and objectives.

The Council continued to grow with new members, regular scheduled meetings throughout the year and an annual forum was established. The Council continued as an ad hoc group when in 2010 - 2011 members saw the need to become mainstream.

Late in 2011 the incorporation of the council began. On January the 6, 2012 became incorporated as a not-for-profit entity with a Board of Directors, By Laws and a defined membership structure. In June 2017, the IEDC recognized the need to expand its membership to all individuals engaged in the regulatory, compliance and enforcement industries. As such, IEDC was transformed into the Regulatory Compliance and Enforcement Council (RCEC).

Membership has grown from the original 30 members to 340, representing 108 distinct agencies from coast to coast to coast. The only province/territory that is not part of the membership is the Northwest Territories.

The mission of the RCEC is to promote industry excellence through an inventory of quality training and education. RCEC is committed to providing a forum for our members from coast to coast to coast to easily communicate ideas and share innovation.
The RCEC offers a full calendar of scheduled course offerings in addition to responding to ad hoc training requests from member agencies.

The RCEC training staff have all spent many years in the compliance and enforcement world and bring expertise and field experiences to the table to the benefit of the students. RCEC continues to develop training and expand our training staff roster.
